Local businesses learn survival skills on team building day

Staff from a number of local businesses recently put on their outdoor gear to take part in a Survival Skills training day, organised by Flintshire County Council’s Business Development Team.

The event was a team building exercise and took place in the woodlands near Afonwen. Working in two teams, the group prepared a camp, built a makeshift waterproof shelter and learnt how to make a fire. They even found various wild foods to eat and made wild tea!

Staff from the P&A Group, Westbridge Furniture, Deeside College, Aden Architecture and Cheshire & Warrington Economic Alliance all took part and the feedback was very positive, with those involved saying they’d had an excellent experience and would highly recommend it. The day was sponsored by Barsby Associates and delivered by Planetree Adventures.
