Long-service awards for Flint RNLI volunteers

NLI volunteers from were awarded long service awards at a station meeting on Friday.

Alan Jones, Chairman, and Anthony Forster, Boathouse Manager, both received statuettes from RNLI Divisional Inspector of Lifeboats, Colin Williams.

Mr Williams said: “I am delighted to be presenting these awards – our volunteers are the lifeline of the service, which had its busiest year on record last year, rescuing almost 9,000 people around the coast of the UK & Ireland. RNLI lifeguards also had a record year, assisting almost 16,000 people.”
