There is an exciting opportunity for artists or health care workers to attend and Arts in Health and Wellbeing course during 2011/12.
Two bursaries are being offered by Gwynedd Council for prospective students to follow the course, which is run by Coleg Harlech and to be held at Menai Bridge.
The course is due to start on 1 November 2011, and applications for the bursary must be received by 19 October.
Gwawr Roberts, Gwynedd Council’s Community Arts Development Officer, said:
“We are becoming increasingly aware that art and creativity are great activities in terms of promoting and improve health and wellbeing. This course is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to work in this field, and are dedicated to helping people who may suffer from health and emotional problems.
“The bursary is open to people who live in Gwynedd and priority will be given to those who are Welsh-speakers.
“In return for the bursary, we expect successful artists to complete five days of work experience or a successful health worker to complete a project in their workplace, as part of their overall assessment.”
Gwynedd Council is offering two bursaries of £350 each for the course, but reserve the right to offer a contribution instead of the full amount, depending on the number and quality of the applications.
To apply for a bursary, send a CV and cover letter to Gwawr Roberts, Community Arts Development Officer, Caernarfon Archives, Gwynedd Council, Caernarfon LL55 1SH or email [email protected]
