Man Admits Serious Sexual Assault Charges in Swansea

swp-photoA man who was arrested and charged following a serious sexual assault in a car park near Swansea Civic Centre at 5.40pm on November 20th has appeared in court.

Daniel Keith James, aged 21, of The Strand, Swansea, appeared at Swansea Crown Court yesterday (December 3rd) where he pleaded guilty to rape, indecent assault, robbery and making threats whilst having an offensive weapon.

He has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 17th January.

Detective Inspector Dave Hough of Swansea CID said:

“This was a very serious incident which understandably caused a lot of public concern, particularly in the city centre.

“The man responsible for this assault has now pleaded guilty to all charges and is remanded in custody until his sentencing early in the new year.

“I would like to thank all the members of the public who responded to our appeals by contacting us with information.”
