There were plenty of smiles all around in the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales when young patients were treated to a visit from Kieran, mascot from Kier Construction, when he recently stopped by to judge a colouring competition.

Kier are the contractors building the new neonatal unit at the University Hospital of Wales, and the team thought it would be a nice gesture to spread some joy to the young patients currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

The young patients were asked to draw a picture and enter it into a competition to win a fabulous goodie bag.

Three winners were chosen, Mia Chambers, Aleeza Miah and Macy-Mae Barry being amongst the lucky few to receive a goodie bag, which included a £25 Argos voucher.

Jason Cuddy, Site Manager for Kier Construction said: “It was great to see the smiles on the children’s faces when we gave them their goodie bags, we are doing a lot of work around the hospital, so it was nice to pop in and spend some time with the patients and their families with our mascot Kieran.”

Alison Oliver, Clinical Services Lead for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales said: “It was lovely to get the children involved in the colouring competition and the winners were so pleased with their prizes.”

The winning pictures from the competition will be framed and used to decorate the new garden in the children’s hospital when it opens later this year.
