An “amazing” £30,724.60 has been raised for two local cancer charities through former Mayor Jen Morgan’s appeal for 2008 – 09.
The Hospice of the Valleys and ‘In the Pink’ (for Breast Cancer Research at Velindre Hospital in Cardiff) will share the funds which was raised through events organised by Coun Morgan and volunteers from across Blaenau Gwent.
Presenting the charities with their cheques, Coun Morgan said: “I’m over the moon! – I just can’t thank the people of Blaenau Gwent enough.”
