Menai Bridge Multi-Cultural event

Special events to help build stronger community relations have been organised on Anglesey, with the help of the Police Community Safety Team.

The first of six multi-cultural events was held on Wednesday, 27th January at the Thomas Telford Centre in Menai Bridge, where people will be given the opportunity to speak to various agencies.

Staff from North Wales Police as well as voluntary organisations such as Medrwn Môn, are working in partnership with several different statutory agencies such as the Fire and Rescue Service and Coleg Menai’s ESOL students to give general advice and information on culture, community safety, health social care and well-being and domestic abuse.

“The aim of the day is to recognise and celebrate diversity,” said Police Community Support Officer Norman Hughes, who works with the Police Community Safety Team in Caernarfon.

“The event will be an opportunity to dispel any myths and promote engagement and inclusion. The events are free and all are welcome to attend.”

During each event, opportunities will be made for people to sample various food dishes as well as take part in music and dance.

Further details regarding the events are available by contacting Medrwn Môn on 01248 724944.

  • 18th February – International evening at PJ Hall in Bangor. 6pm.
