Commenting on the announcement that Southern Care Group, which runs nine care homes across North Wales, has gone into administration, Mark Isherwood, Assembly Member for North Wales, said:
“This news will come as a terrible shock to staff, residents and their families alike.
“Communities across North Wales will now be looking for definitive assurances that these care homes will be protected from closure.”
Commenting on the news of the Abergele-based firm, Clwyd West AM Darren Millar (pictured), said, “The prospect of job losses will come as a devastating blow to many households in my constituency.
“Many of my elderly constituents live in care homes operated by Southern Care and this announcement will be a shock for them and their families.
“I’ll do all I can to work with the administrators to give these care homes a future and protect as many jobs as possible.”
