Millar: Better late than never, Edwina

Commenting on a report that Health Minister Edwina Hart had finally apologised for calling campaigners ‘mischief makers’, Shadow Local Government Minister Darren Millar AM said:

“It’s now over a week since the insensitive Mrs Hart displayed her complete lack of feeling for campaigners fighting a worthy cause in North Wales.

“Her reported apology is welcome but late, and not face-to-face, as these people rightly deserve.

“The Minister has been suggesting any politician who dared question her was a ‘mischief maker’ for many years, but when she took it a step further last week, I for one was disgusted and appalled.

“This is a democracy, not some sort of Labour-Plaid dictatorship, contrary to what she probably believes.

“Our NHS is currently being cut to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds by Labour-Plaid and the people of North Wales have every right to campaign against plans that could affect children’s services in the region.”
