Millar: Care cost ‘fiasco’ highlights Labour cuts

Commenting on a BBC investigation – which has found hundreds of families being forced to sell their homes to pay for care fees – Shadow Minister for Health Darren Millar AM said:

“This fiasco is further evidence of Labour’s NHS cuts biting those people who are most in need.

“The Welsh Labour Government has the ability to make sure this area is properly invested in – yet it continues to slash the health budget by hundreds of millions of pounds.

“Claims that dementia sufferers may find it harder to qualify for funding in Wales raises the grim question of yet another postcode lottery in healthcare.

“Simply – the Minister must make sure that those who need funding are able to access it as soon as possible.”
