Commenting on the deaths of two babies from an E.coli infection at Singleton Hospital in Swansea, Shadow Minister for Health Darren Millar AM has sent his condolences and called for urgent reassurances from the Welsh Government:
“My sincere condolences and sympathies go out to the families of both babies involved. These are extremely tragic cases that I know will resonate across Wales for a long, long time to come.
“This is obviously an incredibly serious case and I urge the Health Minister to update us on the current situation and the next planned steps as soon as possible.
“While I recognise these infections appear to be isolated and contained, those using the hospital will expect regular reassurances from the Welsh Government in the immediate future.”
