Millar: Households in Wales facing more Council Tax misery

Commenting on today’s news that council tax bills in Wales will rise by an average of more than twice that in England, Shadow Local Government Minister Darren Millar AM said:

“Yet again, people in Wales are suffering as a result in of Labour and Plaid’s corner cutting measures.

“Households in Wales will see their Council Tax bills by more than twice the amount of that in England at a time when they are already under significant financial pressure.

“The Labour-Plaid coalition is failing to support the most vulnerable in Wales.

“We have already confirmed that a Welsh Conservative Assembly Government would give every pensioner household in Wales would qualify for a 30% reduction in their council tax bills this year, next year and every year.

“We are committed to helping those who Labour and Plaid have failed.”
