Monmouthshire School & Transport Update

Presently no schools have reported closure for Tuesday 12th January.
Please note the website is up-dated as soon as the headteacher notifies the LEA that they have taken the decision to close the school.  It may be that we have not yet been notified and that is why the school is not listed.  If you know of any schools that are closed please contact:

TRANSPORT
PTU Operations

Our County Hall office will be open Monday morning with all PTU staff planning to make all reasonable attempts to make the journey to work. With a high volume of calls being received, we do appreciate your patience and will endeavor to both answer and return all calls. Please also consider contacting us on [email protected]

Home to School Transport
The PTU has requested all operators to risk assess Home to School Transport routes for those schools who will open Monday morning. Operators should have made all necessary preparations over the weekend to prepare for all services to re-commence, weather conditions permitting. We envisage that those services which will run will maybe limited in places to main road only. Parents/carers of children in areas where roads remain compromised are encouraged to meet services on a main road stop where possible. Please contact respective operators for clarity on their individual routes and level of services which may run.

The PTU understands that schools and pupils are preparing for examinations in the forthcoming week. We would therefore encourage parents/carers to consider alternative transport arrangements in the event that contracted vehicles are unable to run.

Public Services
Operators continue to make risk assessments on routes to maintain a ‘normal’ level of service This situation may change throughout the day and so would ask that the operators are contacted directly to receive the latest updates.
