Glyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire has praised Police Forces across Britain for their great efforts to bring the recent riots that spread from London across the country under control. Commenting on the work of the Police, Glyn Davies said:
“We must all be grateful to our police, who reclaimed our towns and cities from the criminals who set out to turn Britain into a lawless state”
“When the scale of threat became obvious, the police really stepped up to the plate and drove the thugs and looters off the streets, and have rounded up many of them to face the consequences of their crimes.”
“The scale of the violence was a wake-up call for the whole of Britain, and teaches us that the first priority of our police is to keep public order, and protect people and their property – by whatever force is needed.”
“And let’s not pretend that this is an ‘English’ problem. The reality is that gang culture is taking root everywhere, even in low crime places like Montgomeryshire, and it must be confronted and defeated.”
