Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has commended the work of volunteers at Loggerheads Country Park, near Mold, and is encouraging more people to take on this fun, fulfilling role.

Darren recently visited Loggerheads to meet with Howard Sutcliffe the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB Officer and to take a look at the newly opened room for AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) volunteers at the park.

He said:

“I always enjoy a day out at Loggerheads and on my latest visit was very impressed by what the volunteers  have achieved.

“Loggerheads covers a huge area and a lot of hard work is needed to keep it looking at its best, therefore the more hands on deck the better, so more volunteers are always welcome.

“Volunteering is good fun, gets you out in the fresh air and teaches you new skills that look good on your CV and it means you’re putting something back into the landscape. Practical tasks in the AONB range from dry stone walling and hedge laying to counting black grouse.

“Anyone interested in becoming a volunteers should contact Loggerheads Country Park on  01352 810614 or visit http://www.clwydianrangeanddeevalleyaonb.org.uk/volunteering/ for more information.
