Glyn Davies, Montgomeryshire’s Conservative MP attended a small party to celebrate the 108th birthday of Miss Noreen Lloyd at her home in Llangynog on Friday. He also delivered a letter from the Prime Minister, David Cameron, congratulating Miss Lloyd on living to such a great age, and wishing her well. Miss Lloyd had been a supporter of the Conservatives for 90 years.
Commenting on his visit to meet Miss Lloyd, Glyn Davies said:
“It was a huge pleasure for me to deliver personally a letter from David Cameron to Miss Noreen Lloyd as part of her 108th birthday celebrations. Miss Lloyd is the 5th oldest person in Wales and remains a hugely popular lady in the village of Llangynog. She has supported the Conservatives since she was a young woman – around 90 years as a party supporter, which must be a record.
“Miss Lloyd has lived a very active and full life, specialising in breeding and showing Dexter cattle when she was farming. She continues to live at home with the help of carers. I visited Miss Lloyd on the occasion of her 107th birthday last year, and she has invited me back to her 109th birthday next year.”
