Murder update – Porthmadog

Update in relation to the murder of 22-year-old Ffion Wyn Roberts.

The road block undertaken in Church Street, Porthmadog, on Friday night proved highly successful.

93 vehicles were stopped between 10pm on Friday 23 April and 5am on Saturday 24 April, and details were taken from all the drivers and their passengers.

During the early hours of the morning police officers spoke to motorists who may have driven through the area on the morning of Saturday April 10, when Ffion Wyn Roberts had been murdered.

Detective Superintendent Peter Chalinor, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: “People were very supportive answering a police questionnaire and we were able to provide reassurance to the public.”

Porthmadog continues to have an increased police presence and leaflets giving information on how to contact the police with information about the murder are being made widely available.

Ffion was last seen at the Union public house, Tremadog, at about 3.30am on Saturday, April 10. She is believed to have walked along Church Street to Porthmadog.
