National Eisteddfod Launches Special Offer for Visitors

With six months to go before the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod opens its gates, the festival has announced details of a special offer, offering a real bargain to anyone buying tickets for two days on the Maes.

For the first time, the Eisteddfod will run a three days on the Maes for the price of two scheme, so anyone buying tickets for two days of their choice can choose to come to the Maes for a third day free of charge.

Chief Executive, Elfed Roberts, said, “This is a simple but effective scheme, and the hope is that many of our visitors will benefit this year in the Vale of Glamorgan.  We’ve already announced details of our season ticket scheme, offering real savings to anyone wishing to come to the Eisteddfod for the whole week, and this new scheme is perfect for visitors joining us for part of the week.

“Buy Maes tickets for two days, and enjoy free entry to the site on a third day of your choice.  So, if you buy two adult tickets and two tickets for children under 12 to the Maes for any two days, you’ll be able to order tickets for up to two adults and two children under 12 for any other day – a saving of £44.

“Like everyone else, we are very aware of the difficult economic climate, and that Eisteddfodwyr, have less money to spend on leisure activities, and we are also aware, by speaking to festival goers of all ages, that people are keen to come to the Eisteddfod and spend a number of days on the Maes.  I hope that this offer will help, and that many more will be able to join us at the Eisteddfod in the Vale of Glamorgan.

“You can also order your tickets online – www.eisteddfod.org.uk – through their ticket line – 0845 4090 800 – from 1 March onwards.  The scheme closes on 1 July.”

The Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod is held on the old airfield at Llandow near Cowbridge and Llantwit Major from 4-11 August.  Details of our evening concerts will be announced over the next few weeks,  and tickets will go on sale on 1 March.
