Penarth’s Neighbourhood Policing Team took on sub zero temperatures last week when they visited Caerleon Road in Dinas Powys with TREV – The Reassurance & Engagement Vehicle.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Paul Francis said: “This is a Safer Vale Community Safety Partnership tool which enables members to get into the heart of our communities and become more visible in key locations.
“The vehicle is ideal to tackle ASB hotspots but can also be used for local surgeries and crime related initiatives.”
Local neighbourhood officers PC Alison Davies and PCSO Michelle Griffiths led the team in conducting a survey among residents to assess local issues concerning matters that police or council or housing could do to improve residents’ quality of life.
Sergeant Frances added: “The Neighbourhood team was also joined by housing officers and local councillors. TREV attracted some interest and welcomed a number of local residents and we were able to discuss issues of concern.
“The surveys will be analysed for current issues affecting the residents so we can provide a more targeted approach to solving local problems.”
