New Grants for Monmouthshire Rural Community Facilities

Rural communities across Monmouthshire can benefit from an exciting new grant scheme being delivered by Monmouthshire County Council. The Village Community Facility Capital Investment Programme provides up to £5,000 funding to support capital projects to village community facilities which improve the range of rural services.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 21st September 2011, and the council will be holding a surgery session for more information on Tuesday 6th September 2011, in Usk.  To make an appointment please call 01633 644499.

Rural Projects Officer, Bethan Gibbens, said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for rural communities to improve local facilities and services. We hope to support 33 projects over the 2 year lifetime of the project and make a big difference to the sustainability of services in rural communities.”

This project has received funding through the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013 which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
