New headteacher for Rhyl High

Denbighshire1The governors of Rhyl High School are pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Armitstead as the school’s new headteacher.

Mrs Armitstead is currently Deputy Headteacher at Rhosnesni High School, Wrexham. Previous to this she  taught at schools in Birkenhead and Runcorn.

The governors look forward to working with Mrs Armitstead in developing Rhyl High School as a beacon of good practice which will form a major contribution to the regeneration of Rhyl.

Mrs Armitstead has shown that she is a passionate and determined leader who is excited by the challenges ahead. She has a proven track record of success and innovation.

Mrs Armitstead, who lives in Chester with her husband and two daughters, said: “I am truly honoured and delighted to be appointed to the post of headteacher at Rhyl High School.

“I look forward to working with Rhyl’s students, staff, governors and parents to build on the existing good work already underway to create a school we can all be proud of.  There are some exciting challenges ahead but I am confident that by working together, as a community, we can ensure all are young people achieve the success they deserve.”
