A new price comparison site which will be based in Llantrisant near Cardiff, is set to launch in early 2012 and will create more than 30 new jobs in the area.
Debra Williams, CEO of the new comparison site who was born and raised in Wales herself said:
“I wanted the company to be based in Wales and the support from the Welsh Government endorses my belief that we made the right choice.
“We are very grateful for their support and proud of the opportunity to create new jobs and recruit local talent.
Debra continued:
“As part of our plans for the new business, we are working with both consumers and insurance providers, understanding their needs and wishes, and using innovative technologies to create an excellent customer process, coupled with impressive insurer relationships. It is an exciting opportunity and an exciting future awaits us and our team in Wales.”
The investment is supported by the Welsh Government and Business Minister Edwina Hart said Covéa is a welcome addition to Wales’ dynamic financial and professional services sector.
Mrs Hart (pictured) said:

We have a thriving cluster of companies operating in this area and I am pleased that support from the Welsh Government has encouraged Covéa to open a new operation in Wales, creating more than 30 new jobs.”
The Financial and Professional Services Advisory Panel, chaired by Chris Nott is particularly pleased that another major European Insurer has been attracted by the International reputation that Wales has created as the centre for price comparison companies.
Commenting on the good news he said:

Using a new price comparison site model, the website looks to help address the concerns of insurers, ultimately enabling a better experience for consumers.
Covéa, the parent company of the new price comparison site, is one of a hugely successful business with revenue of over 13bn Euros [per annum].
Covéa’s UK group of companies includes Swinton, MMA Insurance and recently acquired Provident, enabling the new site to benefit from the experience and insight into every aspect of the insurance industry.
