New staff for housing association will oversee the huge improvements programme across the county

Two new members of staff have joined the over 100-strong team at Tai Ceredigion’s main office in Lampeter. The housing association has designed the new roles of Project Managers to oversee the mammoth task of bringing every single one of their 2,227 homes up to the Welsh Quality Standard by the end of 2014.

The new Project Managers, Kevin Jones and Colin Downham will work directly with Tai Ceredigion’s Executive team and then liaise with the Maintenance Surveyors, Resident Liaison Advisors and the contractors on the ground to ensure every tenant has a programme of works for their home and is aware what will be taking place when.

Councillor Hag Harris, Chair of Tai Ceredigion’s Board said “We would like to welcome our new members of staff to Tai Ceredigion and wish them well in their new roles. We are now moving into the real work in the county. It is a big job and one promise we must meet and deliver on.”

Llyr Edwards, Director of Property Services said “We are thrilled to have recruited our new Project Managers. Kevin will manage the north and Colin the south of the county. We are also appointing two more Resident Liaison Advisors this month and will be recruiting a further two in December, making a total of six. Our Resident Liaison Advisors are the main contact point for tenants and leaseholders.

Next we will be completing the remaining full surveys of each home and preparing the improvement programme which will be delivered by our contractors. Tenants will hear by the end of December when their planned work will be taking place over the next three years. And even though the majority of the improvements programme begin next year, we have been able to put a short term programme together which includes the installation of external insulation, new windows, doors, new gas or low carbon heating systems, disabled adaptations, and some external improvements which will be taking place between this September and March 2012.”
