Do you know someone who has made a real difference to the world of Science and Technology through the medium of Welsh, or do you know someone who has promoted the use of Welsh in the science world? If so, the National Eisteddfod would like to hear from you.
Wales may be known more for its singers and poets, but our scientific and technological contributions are just as valuable in the history of our country.
The National Eisteddfod Science and Technology Medal exists to honour those individuals who have made their mark in the world of science and technology through the medium of Welsh.
The Medal was created in 2004, and is presented to deserving individuals every year.
Former winners include Professor Gareth F Roberts, Eirwen Gwynn and Glyn O Phillips. The 2011 Medal was awarded to Neville Evans.
Nominations, complete with a précis of the individual’s work and contribution should be sent to the Eisteddfod Organiser, Eisteddfod Office, 15 Mold Business Park, Wrexham Road, Mold CH7 1XP by 31 January 2012.
The winner will be announced in April and will be honoured in a special ceremony during Eisteddfod week.
The nomination form is available to download from the National Eisteddfod website – www.eisteddfod.org.uk, or ring the office on 0845 4090 400 for a copy.
The Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod is held on the old airfield at Llandow from 4-11 August next year.
