Nominations Sought for the Sir T H Parry-Willaims Memorial Medal

Do you know someone who’s volunteered to help young people for many years somewhere in Wales? Would you like to nominate someone who’s made a real difference to people’s lives locally? Are you keen to see someone honoured on the Pavilion stage at the National Eisteddfod for their community work?

You may well know someone who should be nominated for the Sir Thomas Parry-Williams Memorial Medal at the National Eisteddfod. Nominations are already open, and all information needs to be returned by the end of January 2012.

Sir T.H.Parry-Williams was a great supporter of the National Eisteddfod, and in August 1975, following his death a few months earlier, a trust was set up to celebrate his invaluable contribution to Eisteddfod activities. The fund is administered by the Sir Thomas Parry-Williams Trust.

If you’d like to nominate someone for the 2012 Sir Thomas Parry-Williams Medal, contact the National Eisteddfod Chief Executive, Elfed Roberts on 0845 4090 300 or by emailing [email protected]. You can also ask for a nomination form by writing to the Chief Executive, 40 Parc Ty Glas, Llanishen, Cardiff CF14 5DU.

The closing date for nominations is 31 January 2012, and the Medal will be presented at a special ceremony on the Pavilion stage at the Vale of Glamorgan National Eisteddfod, held from 4-11 August. The winner’s name will be announced in April.
