On Wednesday the 9th May this year up to 100 people aged 50+, and living in Denbighshire and Flintshire, are invited to take part in a free Nordic walking event in Llangollen.

Participants will learn the Nordic Technique with qualified instructors, take part in a guided walk, make new friends, enjoy a buffet lunch, and learn about other healthy ageing activities to take part in, in their local area.

Llangollen pavilion will host the event from 10.45-14.00 and will be the starting point for the walk.

This event, completely has been organised by Europe Direct Llangollen in cooperation with Denbighshire and Flintshire Leisure Services to celebrate the ‘European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations’, which aims to create better opportunities for older people to stay active.

The specially designed poles are lightweight and offer a great deal of support, while enhancing the natural walking experiences, allowing you to burn 20% more calories than usual.

Complete beginners and more experienced walkers are welcome, and participants will be grouped according to ability.

Bus transport is being provided from North Denbighshire.
