Are you a young person with a passion for live performance photography?
If so, the Big Tribute Festival is ready to give you your Big Chance!
The Festival is looking for three young people aged between 16 and 18 who are keen to develop a career in photography for a unique mentoring opportunity with one of Wales’ leading photographers.
For each of the three days at the Aberystwyth festival, Keith Morris, who has over 30 years experience of live music photography covering such acts as Catatonia, Super Furry Animals and Paulo Nutini will provide the budding young photographers with access to professional equipment, tips and techniques on how to craft the right shots to meet the demands of the media.
“At the Big Tribute, you’ll benefit from the full festival experience of capturing headline acts on a huge outdoor stage with the roar of thousands of festival goers behind you – but with the freedom of movement that you would only usually experience photographing a band in a local pub,” said Festival Director Steve Pickup.
“Not only that, but there will be no intimidating tour manager, record label execs or heavy handed security to deal with – just an access all areas opportunity to hone your skills with Keith on hand to provide advice and guidance throughout the day.”
As well as getting raw images uploaded during the festival itself, there will also be an online gallery post-event and an exhibition in Aberystwyth during the Autumn of the young photographers work.
Keith says “I’m looking to help and encourage new emerging young talented music photographers, giving them a real taste of high calibre live event photography in a friendly and supportive environment. And to have a heck of a lot of fun too!”
A panel of judges will also award a prize for the photograph which best captures the spirit of the festival. This comprises of £50 cash donated by Keith Morris Photography, £50 worth of photo developing donated by Ffoto Shop, and a pair of weekend tickets to the Big Tribute 2015.
