Flintshire County Council’s out-going chairman, Councillor Carolyn Thomas has handed over funds raised during the last year to three nominated charities.
Between them, Nightingale House Hospice, Cancer Research UK and the League of Friends at Mold Hospital received £20,888.70.
Cllr Thomas presented representatives from the charities with the cheques at County Hall in Mold ending a very successful year as chairman.
Cllr Thomas said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my year and I’m overwhelmed at the huge sum of money I’ve been able to give to the three charities. I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped with the fundraising, it’s been a fantastic experience.”
