Paul Davies helps launch Vision for Welsh Future

Practical ways to help visually impaired people in Pembrokeshire was top of the agenda when local AM Paul Davies joined the RNIB at an event in the Senedd.

The charity was launching the Wales Vision Strategy Implementation Plan which aims at raising awareness of problems faced by the blind and partially sighted across Wales.  The event also marked the launch of a cross party vision group in the Senedd.

Phil Stevens, co-author of the plan, said:  “It lays out practical goals to improve the lives of people with sight problems in Wales. The objectives present clear priorities for the sight loss sector in Wales over the next four years. I hope that in future sight loss will be decreased by reaching out to people quickly when they need support.”

Mr Davies added: “This is an opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges faced by blind and visually impaired people in Pembrokeshire.  “Simple things like catching a bus or visiting the doctor can be such a challenge and anything that makes life easier for them is to be welcomed.”
