Pembrokeshire Roadshows to Reduce Fear of Crime

Two road shows have been set up for the older population in a bid to help make them feel safer in the communities.

Although Pembrokeshire has a low crime rate sometimes people in particular the elderly do not feel safe.

Safer Pembrokeshire is holding the free events in Tenby and Haverfordwest.

Information, advice and equipment will be available on the days from Dyfed Powys Police Bobby Van, the Burglary Reduction Officer, Age Concern, Lifeline / Telecare, Trading Standards, Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service, Anti Social Behaviour Reduction Coordinators, Older People’s Strategy and the Good Neighbour Scheme.

Alison Rogers, Safer Pembrokeshire’s community safety co-ordinator, said: “Older people can often feel isolated in their communities but in Pembrokeshire there are lots of agencies out there which can help them feel safe.

“We would welcome any of the older generation to pop into the road shows for coffee and a chat.”

The events run from 10am-4pm and are taking place on Wednesday 17th March at the De Valence pavilion in Tenby and Wednesday 24th March at the Picton Centre in Haverfordwest.
