Plenty of Opportunities at the St Mellons Jobs Fair

A jobs, advice and training fair will be taking place at the St Mellons Community Education Centre on Thursday 13 October with more than 50 job opportunities on offer.

Cardiff Council’s Communities First team in St Mellons is arranging the event where16 organisations, will be represented and urges anyone currently looking for work or wishing to improve their job prospects to come and see what is on offer.

Up to 50 full time job opportunities will be on offer through the Hendre Group, which includes Hafod Housing Association, Hafod Care Association, Foundation Housing Tai Sylfaen and Yellow Wales with 5 part time jobs being offered by the Care Agency Q Care Ltd.

Representatives will also be available from Avon and the National Fostering Agency who are  looking to recruit agents and foster carers.

There will also be opportunities to refresh CV’s with staff from Want to Work, Cardiff Works and Cardiff Council’s Training & Enterprise Centre. Training opportunities will be offered by the College, U-Learn.

Councillor Judith Woodman, Deputy Leader of Cardiff Council and Executive Member for Communities, Housing & Social Justice, said: “The jobs fair will have full and part time jobs on offer at all levels. This Council is continuing to work hard with partner organisations in local communities and I would recommend that anyone looking for work at the moment takes the time to go along for more information and advice.”

Councillor Neil McEvoy, Deputy Leader of Cardiff Council and Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “The jobs fair in St Mellons is an important opportunity for anyone looking for work. As Executive Member for Economic Development I am making sure that Cardiff Council is pro-active during these difficult economic times and that we work within communities to promote job opportunities for local people.”

The fair will run from 11am to 3pm at St Mellons Community Education Centre Crickhowell Rd CF3 0EF (behind Tesco).
