Police organise family event on Anglesey

It was praise all round for a Community Safety Family Day held on Anglesey at the weekend.

The event was held at Brynteg Community Centre on Saturday September 4 with PCSO Iona Beckmann, joining forces with members of the community, to organise the day.

She said: “The event was organised by locals and the Neighbourhood Policing Team after people in the community said that they did not have anything planned for the village.

“We had over 100 people of all age groups there, from young to elderly and it was very successful and I would like to thank members of the community for their time and commitment and local businesses who donated towards it,” she said.

During the day police were offering crime prevention advice from their NPT tent and signed up a number of people for Balance Your Bobbies. North Wales Fire and Rescue also attended with a Fire Engine and gave out safety advice.

There was also a fun element to the day with appearances by the Cor y Traeth singers, a magician and dancer Jan Muir who has appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor.

PCSO Beckmann said: “It was a great success and residents in Brynteg were delighted and said that it was an excellent way of developing trust and confidence in the NPT. They also praised three police cadets for all their efforts.”
