North Wales Police are seeking the views of the public with regards to the force’s police uniform.
Members of the public are being invited to take part in the online survey to determine how people view the police and what difference different uniform styles make.
The survey is being carried out by Superintendent Simon Shaw, as part of his MBA studies at Bangor University.
He said: “In recent years, our uniform has developed to provide operational staff with a uniform that is both practical and comfortable.
“As part of my studies I’m hoping to find out what effect the uniform has on the public’s perception of the police, and over the coming weeks I will be carrying out both online and street surveys.”
Supt Shaw is now in his final year and this piece of work is part of his final dissertation. He will be graduating in July.
He has already spent time at the Bay View Shopping Centre in Colwyn Bay carrying out street surveys and is actively encouraging as may people as possible to take part.
He added: “I’m aiming to get as much feedback as I can and at the end, the research will be shared with the Force.”
Supt Shaw was awarded a joint scholarship by the University of Wales, Bangor and North Wales Police to study for his MBA.
