Commenting on a rise in the number of people unemployed in Wales, Shadow Minister for Business Nick Ramsay AM, said:
“These figures highlight what is clearly a delicate situation within the Welsh economy.
“There is an incredibly pressing need for the Business Minister to get her act together and make some decisions on economic policy.
“The Chancellor announced the Enterprise Zones policy in the Budget in March. Now 21 zones are being created in England, including several close to the border with Wales. The Assembly elections were four months ago. Yet we still don’t know when – how – or if enterprise zones will be introduced in Wales.
“This is no time for complacency.
“The Welsh Labour government must work with businesses and the UK government to generate new jobs and support the Welsh economy.”
