Recruiting Older People

Residents in Neath Port Talbot are being reminded that the closing date is the 30th June for joining the Older Persons’ Council.

If you live in Neath Port Talbot and are interested in issues affecting those over the age of 50 then you may like to be one of the voices for older people in the area.

The Older Persons’ Council is looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are in regular contact with older people in the community.

The Older Persons’ Council is a link between people over the age of 50 and the Council, the Welsh Assembly Government and organisations that have an influence over the lives of all older people.

Topics discussed include Health and Wellbeing, Work and Volunteering, Community Safety, Lifelong Learning, Community Involvement, Care and Accommodation Work and Volunteering.

Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Ali Thomas, said, “Neath Port Talbot Council fully supports the work of the Older Persons’ Council and wholeheartedly encourages any suitable candidates to get involved in helping promote the needs and concerns of the over 50’s within their local communities.”
