The first of Flintshire’s Bridges fitness suites to be refurbished has been officially reopened.
Flintshire County Council’s executive member for Leisure and Public Protection, Councillor Dennis Hutchinson visited Holywell Leisure Centre to see the new facilities.
Flintshire’s four Bridges Fitness Suites are being refurbished with new CV (cardio vascular) and Resistance equipment manufactured by Technogym.
The equipment has the latest entertainment package allowing users to plug in their ear phones and watch a freeview channel of their choice or plug in an iPod and listen to their own music, watch TV programmes that have recorded from BBC iPlayer or even play games while working out. This will provide a much more entertaining way to train.
The centres in Mold Leisure Centre, Deeside Leisure Centre, The Pavilion in Flint and Holywell Leisure Centre are being temporarily closed on a staggered basis while the refurbishments take place. All customers can however train at any of the sites whilst their normal site is closed.
Once a member has been inducted into one Bridges Suite they can use them all.
During this refurbishment at least two other Bridges Suites in the county will be open and available for use.
Councillor Hutchinson said: “I am delighted to open this newly refurbished Bridges fitness suite in Holywell. This is an excellent facility for the community of Flintshire.”
