Renewed appeal following Buckley incident

Following the incident in Precinct Way, Buckley, where 24-year-old Peter William Jones was fatally injured, police are renewing their appeal for witnesses.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the White Lion pub or the Potters Wheel between 9pm on Saturday 8 May and 12.30am on Sunday 9 May, where the victim had been drinking with his father, who was also seriously assaulted.

On leaving the White Lion he walked onto Precinct Way, where he was seriously assaulted.

Detective Inspector Alun Oldfield said: “We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Precinct Way between 12.50am and 01.10 am in the early hours of Sunday morning and who may have information on this incident to contact North Wales Police on 101 at any time of day or night and in confidence.”

Two local men were arrested in connection with the incident – a 22-year-old has been bailed and a 21-year-old has been charged with manslaughter.
