Renewed appeal for fatal collision witnesses

Police are renewing and expanding their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road collision in Flintshire last month to come forward.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of a gold/beige saloon type car that was parked or had stopped on the A550 Tinkersdale Road facing towards Dobbs Hill at the time of the collision, 2.10pm, on September 26.

The driver of this car was later requested to move his vehicle to another location by a member of the public who was conducting traffic control while awaiting the emergency services.

The police are now also appealing for the driver of a white Transit type van with reflective markings on the rear section to come forward as a possible witness.

This vehicle was seen parked in a lay by on the Tinkersdale road shortly before the collision and then moved away towards Hawarden around the time of the collision.

Police have also renewed their appeal to speak to the man who was conducting the traffic control at the scene and who requested the gold/beige car to move. He is described as short in height. He remained at the location until the arrival of the emergency services.

The collision involved a grey Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 CDTI car, an orange Triumph Triple 675cc motorcycle and a green Rover 25 car on the A550 at Tinkersdale near Hawarden.

Motorcyclist Russell James Green, 45 of Leighton Road, Neston, Wirral died as a result of the collision.

Anyone with information should call North Wales Police on 101, if in Wales, or 08456071001 (Welsh line) 08456071002 (English line).
