Report RCT Illegal Alcohol Sales Online

Residents in RCT can now report incidents of underage alcohol sales confidentially and online, as the campaign continues to protect the county’s younger generations.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Trading Standards officers are delivering a successful campaign that aims to raise awareness among licensees and landlords and also prevents sales being made to the underage.

Alcohol-related youth annoyance, crime and disorder remains one of the top concerns for communities across the county, not to mention the health and personal safety issues drinking brings for young people.

As such, forming part of the commitment to enable residents to engage with their council in whatever way suits them, a new online service has been launched.

People can visit www.rctcbc.gov.uk and report an underage sale via the “Report It” section on the front/home page of the website.

The form, which can also be accessed from the Trading Standards information pages on the same website, is then filled out by the resident and returned directly to officers.

Cllr John David, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Trading Standards, explained: “We know that this is an issue concerning parents, residents and even other licensees and we need them to continue working with us in order to share information so we can take the necessary action.

“Our work to raise awareness of, and reduce instances of, sales of alcohol to the underage has been a huge success and we want that to continue.

“By offering yet another means of communication, we hope it will be easier for people to share information with us. However, they can still contact us by telephone, email or via a One4All centre if they wish. The choice is up to them.”

To report underage alcohol sales online, visit www.rctcbc.gov.uk, if you prefer to communicate via email, use [email protected] and if you prefer to use the telephone, ring 01443 425777
