Residents urged to show support for Libraries’ future

Local residents are being urged to show their support to save Kinmel Bay and Cerrigydrudion libraries from closure.

Conwy County Borough Council is currently consulting on the closure of a number of libraries across the area, including Kinmel Bay and Cerrigydrudion. The Council’s consultation closes on the 26th August and Darren Millar, Assembly Member for Clwyd West, is urging as many as people as possible to respond to show their opposition to the Council’s plans to close the libraries.

When asked to comment Darren said:

‘The closure of Kinmel Bay and Cerrigydrudion libraries would be a real blow for local residents. They are important facilities for the local community.

‘The campaign to save these libraries has gained real support and I want to see them stay open.

‘This consultation is an important opportunity for local residents to show the strength of opposition over plans to close these libraries. With only two weeks left until the consultation closes, we need to do everything we can to ensure they both stay open and I want as many people as possible to contact the Council to make their views known.’
