Rhyl Air Show set to return

Following the outstanding success of last year’s event  the Rhyl Air Show will be on 7 and 8 August 2010

This free event is organised by Denbighshire County Council’s Maritime and Regeneration Department and supported by The Royal Air Force and Rhyl Town Council.

This seaside event is set to be bigger and better this year, with planned displays  from the world famous RAF’s Red Arrows and Falcon Parachute Team.  The event will also include a number of civilian display teams such as the Breitling Wing Walkers, The Yakovlevs, Hunter, Jet Provot and Gerald Cooper Aerobatic Pilot.

Event organiser Sian Davies  said, “An estimated audience of over 30,000 were enthralled by the show last year and I am delighted that  we have secured the support of the Royal Air Force and, in particular, the Red Arrows Display Team.  Rhyl Promenade has a superb crowd line and it was a pure joy to see tens of thousands of people enjoying a great day.”

Reiterating the comments of the organisers, Cllr  David Thomas, Cabinet  Lead Member for Regeneration and Tourism said,  “Without a doubt last year’s event exceeded all expectations and was a phenomenal success.”

Alongside the flying programme, there will be plenty of activity on the ground including an air show village, fun fair and entertainment. The main air show will take place on Sunday (8 August), but on Saturday (7 August) there will be flypasts, the RAF Parachute Display Team and promeade displays.

Please be aware that all Military Displays are subject to operational requirements and of course the weather.
