Rhyl Robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a Rhyl building society.

The incident happened at 7.15pm on Friday 9 October, when two masked men used a sledge hammer to force their way into the Halifax Building Society on Russell Road in Rhyl.

Security officers were inside the premises at the time and a large amount of cash was stolen.

The offenders are believed to have left the scene in a dark red five door car, which made off at speed along Grange Road.

A third person is believed to have been driving the vehicle.

There are no further details of the vehicle at present, but police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen it driving off in the direction of Grange Road.

A security officer suffered slight injuries during the incident, but he did not need hospital treatment.

One of the men is described as being 6’2” tall. He was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.

The other is said to be 5’10” tall, of stocky build and he was also wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.

There is no description of the driver of the car.
