Rhyl Tourist Information centre forges links across the Irish sea

A unique new partnership has been made between Rhyl Tourist Information Centre (TIC) and Athy Heritage & Information Centre in Ireland for a first in TIC twinning.

Sinead Cullen from Ireland spent a day working in Rhyl centre at the Childrens Village and described it as a great facility for the town, adding: “You have so much information on things to do here!”

The two TICs will continue to work together using the internet and will share ideas and best practice to improve service and raise awareness of the two towns.

Rhyl TIC sells ferry tickets to Ireland as well as beach essentials for thousands of holiday makers staying in Rhyl to enjoy the seven miles of sandy beaches.

The venture was facilitated by the BRAND project working to raise confidence and awareness for Rhyl, funded by the EU Interreg Ireland-Wales programme.
