Businesses in the Caerphilly county borough are set to benefit from extra support now that a new face has joined the council’s business development team.
Richard Evans has been appointed Business Resource Efficiency Co-ordinator for Caerphilly county borough council and will be based at Tredomen Business & Technology Centre in Ystrad Mynach.
The team offers a ‘hub’ of business support and brings many local business support agencies under one roof to give local firms of all sizes ease of access to a wide range of help and advice.
Richard brings with him a wealth of experience from the private sector where he has worked in the food industry as an Environmental Manager. He has a clear understanding of how to enable a business to manage their resources more efficiently, reduce utility spend and manage waste more effectively – even turning waste products into profit. Richard has also developed and implemented in-house environmental management systems that are tailored to meet the needs of the business.
“Managing resources more efficiently can have a real impact on the business and this is particularly important during the current recession. I would encourage businesses to adopt more resource efficient production methods, minimise their waste and utilise modern technologies to enable them to become more efficient,” said Richard Evans, Business Resource Efficiency Co-ordinator.
“We are delighted to welcome Richard to our Business Development Team and we would urge local businesses to get in touch and take advantage of his expertise in managing resources efficiently,” said Cllr Ron Davies, CCBC cabinet member for regeneration.
