RNLI lifeguards assist woman with broken arm on Aberystwyth beach

RNLI lifeguards Angharad Jones and Rikky Williams assisted a woman that had broken her arm after she fell on the slipway at Aberystwyth beach last Friday.

The charity’s lifeguards had finished their shift for the day when they saw the woman in her 50s slip as she walked down from the prom to the beach. As the woman fell she landed awkwardly and broke her arm. Both lifeguards rushed to her assistance and used their first aid training to check her injuries and make her comfortable as possible until the ambulance arrived.

RNLI lifeguards are highly trained in first aid so that they are able to respond to various incidents that may happen across the Welsh beaches. The lifeguards are ready at their units to offer safety advice and assistance to the public in Ceredigion from 10am-6pm everyday throughout the summer holidays.
