Cardiff Council’s Road Safety Unit, in conjunction with the Cardiff Group of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (CGIAM) is organising a number of mature driver refresher seminars to be held at the Road Safety Centre at Maindy during 2012.
Mature drivers are being offered the chance to fine tune their driving abilities and refresh their skills at a Mature Drivers Refresher Seminar, with the first seminar taking place on Thursday June 28 between 1pm – 4.30pm
The Mature Drivers Refresher Seminar offers a host of practical advice, suggestions and driving strategies for mature drivers.
Topics covered during the seminar includes: the effects of speed, stopping distances, dealing with junctions and roundabouts, driver observation, health, hazard awareness and a fun Highway Code quiz.
Eighteen places are available on each seminar, which costs £10 per person.
Those taking part will also be offered free associate membership of the Cardiff Group of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (CGIAM). There is also an opportunity to undertake an ‘observed run’ in your own car with an IAM trained observer who will assess your driving skills and offer constructive advice.
