An appeal for witnesses and information is being made following a robbery at a convenience store in Llysfaen, Colwyn Bay on Monday night.
Shortly after 21:30hrs on Monday, 28th December, North Wales Police received a report that an armed robbery had occurred at the Spar store.
Three men entered the location demanding money and threatened two members of staff with weapons – believed to be a handgun and a knife. The men then left the store with a quantity of cash from the till.
Approximately two hours later, police arrested five men in connection with the incident. All five have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Iestyn Davies said: “The men made their initial escape on foot and may have used an alleyway which leads to the Alltwen Estate. We also believe there may have been a fourth male involved in the offence.
“We wish to trace four males who were seen in the alleyway between Gadlas Road and Alltwen shortly before the offence. All four spoke with Merseyside accents and anybody who may have seen them are asked to contact us.”
As a result of the incident one member of staff sustained minor injuries.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of the store on Monday night, or anybody who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area is asked to contact officers at Central CID on 101, or 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line), 0845 607 1002 (English line) or Crimestoppers Wales Cymru anonymously on 0800 555 111.
