Rockpool safari at Criccieth

Do you want to discover extraordinary creatures, and an opportunity to see the variety of wildlife that’s usually hidden beneath the waves? If so, why not come along to the Promenade in Criccieth and join a rockpool safari.

On Wednesday afternoon, 11 August between 3pm and 5pm, Council’s Biodiversity Team will be staging a rockpool safari on the beach at GwyneddCriccieth. The safari will be a great opportunity for children and people of all ages to spend an interesting afternoon on the beach discovering all kinds of coastal creatures such as crabs, molluscs, fish and anenomes.

They will meet at the eastern end of the Promenade in Criccieth, near Morannedd Café. All are welcome to this free event, but please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. Please remember to wear appropriate footwear as well as waterproof clothing – just in case!

The rockpool safari will be led by Laura Jones and Dafydd Jones of Gwynedd Council. For more information on this or other events held this summer visit www.gwynedd.gov.uk/biodiversity or contact Laura on 01286 679381 or by email: [email protected]
