Round Up: SWALEC League West Divisions

In Division West Division Two BP Llandarcy battled out to a 3-3 draw against table-topping Maesteg in a real war of attrition. Flyhalf Daniel Jones kicked the only points for the Llandarcy club while they had a match winning penalty decision turned down.

Meanwhile second placed Loughor sealed an 18-15 victory. Scrum half Steven Wake and No 8 Jonathan Phillips grabbed the tries while flyhalf Ben Davies kicked one conversion and two penalties.

In a basement battle Pencoed secured a 13-11 home win and with it their first win of the season. Wing Jason Jones scored his side’s only points and outside half Mark Davies added a further eight points.

Division Three West leaders sailed to a 38-5 bonus point victory to remain on top at home to Penclawdd. Fullback Mark Lloyd was the star of the game after racing over for two of his sides four tries.

Elsewhere in the division Gorseinon sprung a surprise on third placed Morriston in a 29-18 triumph. Gorseinon secured the bonus point with four tries. Openside flanker Emyr Stone and wing Nicky Sterry crossed for two of the four. A try each from Morriston’s scrumhalf Ben Collins and flanker Matthew Lewis was not enough to help the third placed side avoid defeat.

In Division Four West Tumble rumbled table topping Milford Haven in a stunning 39-31 victory. Prop Clive Morgan stormed over for two tries and was joined by No 8 Rhys Jones and centre Josh George in grabbing tries. Fullback Steven Hewitt kicked 11 points in the shock win but Milford Haven remain top after securing a try scoring bonus point.
