Rugby tackles smoking

March 14th 2012 is National No Smoking Day.  To promote the benefits of being smoke-free and to encourage children not to smoke as they grow up some members of the Rygbi Gogledd Cymru 1404 team will be conducting some rugby activities and games with 200 pupils from Conwy and Denbighshire schools.

The players will be role-models and will reinforce the benefits of themselves being non-smokers.  The pupils will also be given the opportunity to ask the players some questions.  Activities on the day are being led by Julian Ferrari, Regional Development Officer for the Welsh Rugby Union.

Date                Wednesday 14th March 2012
Time         12.30pm – 2.30pm
Venue        Colwyn Leisure Centre, Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay

The pupils from selected schools from the two counties recently learnt about the negative effects of smoking from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and a magician.  These schools have been selected to attend the event as they have the highest percentage of Smoke bugs!  club members.
